BRYAN -- A man is shot twice during a home invasion Saturday and tonight Bryan police are still searching for the suspects.
Kirk Blake hasn't lived on Ehlinger Drive for long but says the area stays pretty quiet.
That is, until a shooting Saturday night, right next door.
"Nice evening until the gunshot. I thought I heard a gunshot but I wasn't sure but when I heard the sirens I knew what I heard and that's when I walked out the door to see all the commotion."
Bryan police tell us around 11 pm two individuals knocked on the victim's door and when the 19-year old opened it, thinking it was guests coming to a party, they forced their way in.
"Two unknown males rushed inside with handguns and the victim was shot twice from handgun fire," said Officer Jon Agnew.
And police believe the two suspects may have targeted the home because of the party.
"We do encourage people to look out before they open the door and invite people in but in this situation he was having a party and he was expecting people to be coming over so it's kind of a strange situation," Agnew said.
Neighbor Kirk Blake said he's shocked to know what happened right next door to where he lives.
"I can't believe this is happening on a Saturday night, for no reason."
Police say the two suspects, who ran off with people's money, are described as two black males wearing hooded sweatshirts.
If you have any information about these men call Bryan Police immediately.
