WACO -- As one Interstate 35 project ends, another one begins.
Today marks the start of a 10-mile expansion project north of Bruceville-Eddy all the way to Hewitt between mile markers 319 and 328.
"We're going to add a lane in each direction, we're going to widen frontage roads, there's going to be some direct connectors that will suddenly appear, there will be some new over passes," TxDot spokesperson Ken Roberts said.
This week construction crews will place barriers and clear off the sides of the road to make room for the expansion. Throughout this 3 year project you can expect extra traffic delays.
"Throughout the process there will be lane closures, primarily overnight, but there's going to be work going on."
Right now you can see the beginning of a flyover that will from FM 2113, over Sun Valley Blvd. and down a ramp that enters I-35 North.
The next project is set to begin this summer with the construction of bridges over the Brazos river.
All are set to be complete in 2015.
