Temple police are investigating what led to a weekend stabbing that left a man with multiple stab wounds.

According to police, the incident occurred Sunday morning at about 2:03 a.m. Temple police were dispatched to “Bum’s Sports Bar”, located at 215 Southwest H.K. Dodgen Loop, in reference to a stabbing that had just occurred. Officers proceeded the bar and found a 21-year-old male with multiple stab wounds.  The victim was transported by ambulance to Scott and White Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Officers located and detained a male suspect inside the bar.  Additional investigation led the officers to arrest that subject in connection with the stabbing.  The initial investigation revealed that a confrontation had taken place at the bar between the suspect and victim.  During the altercation, the suspect stabbed the victim multiple times.

This case was reviewed with the Bell County District Attorney’s Office who declined to issue a complaint against the suspect at this time.  The investigation remains active.
