Lacy Lakeview officers arrested a man after responding to a welfare call, in which one of the officers ended up being shot.

According to the police report, officers received a call about a man who appeared to be upset and possibly armed with a gun at 5:10 p.m. at 104 Bobcat Road. When officers attempted to make contact, shots were fired from inside the residence. As the four officers were attempting to take cover, Officer Roy Wood was struck in the back of the upper arm, with the bullet exiting at the shoulder.

Lacy Lakeview officers were then joined on the scene by DPS Troopers, the Waco Police Department, Waco TSTC Police Department, Texas Rangers, the McLennan County Sheriff's Department, and the Bellmead Police Department. All of the agencies assisted with crowd control and in clearing the residence.

Wood was treated for his injuries and released.

About 30 minutes after the shots were fired, two men, who were inside of the house were taken into custody. Shortly thereafter, Keith McAdams, 21, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault Against a Public Servant. The other man was released.
