A Waco woman was arrested in North Texas for her alleged role in sexually assaulting a child.

Yuishea Lashon Davis, 25, was arrested in Tarrant County on March 19.

According to the Waco Police Department, they received a report of the sexual abuse on July 19, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. The call came in from a medical clinic in the downtown area of Waco about a possible sexual abuse of a child. When the responding officer arrived, it was reported that there appeared to be some inappropriate injuries. He then made a report and referred it to the Crimes Against Children Unit.

Police were then able to have a local advocacy center conduct a forensic interview with the child. They then were able to determine an acquaintance of the victim, who is under ten years old, was assaulted. Davis was reported to be the suspect.

Police believe the incident occurred between May and June of 2012.

"The suspect inserted an object into the little girl, causing injuries," said spokesman Patrick Swanton of the Waco PD.

A warrant for Davis was obtained in mid-February, and police had been looking for her ever since.
